College of International Business and Economics Wuhan,WTU Successfully Hosts International Exchange Event with Manchester Metropolitan University

In order to promote international academic exchanges and cooperation, broaden the international horizons of teachers and students, and cultivate innovative thinking, the School of Art and Design at College of International Business and Economics WuhanWTU specially invited Professor Joe Duffy and Professor Darren Raven from Manchester Metropolitan University to conduct an international exchange event on the afternoon of November 1st. Vice President of the college, Xiong Rui, Dean of the School of Art and Design, Xiong Zhaofei, as well as representatives from the faculty and students of the School of Art and Design and the School of Digital Media, totaling over 400 people, participated in the event.



Prior to the exchange lecture, the professor team from Manchester Metropolitan University toured the teaching and creative facilities of the School of Art and Design, including the exhibition area of outstanding student clothing works and the clothing workshop, gaining an in-depth understanding of the educational resources and hardware facilities of the School of Art and Design.

During the exchange lecture, Dean Xiong Zhaofei briefly introduced the resumes and academic achievements of Professor Joe Duffy and Professor Darren Raven. He stated that the purpose of this event is to provide a platform for students to broaden their horizons and enhance their professional abilities through international exchanges, and to further strengthen friendly interactions and deep cooperation between teachers and students of the two universities.





Subsequently, Professor Joe Duffy introduced and shared the educational philosophy, teaching modes, and curriculum planning of Manchester Metropolitan University. Professor Darren Raven, using examples such as food, scent, and color, explained in detail the methods of divergent thinking in the design process and showcased design works by outstanding.



The exchange lecture of Manchester City University in the UK provided a valuable learning opportunity for the college. Through cross-border educational exchanges, it built a platform for international exchange and cooperation, helping teachers and students to expand their international vision and enhance their competitiveness. In the future, the school will continue to provide a series of international exchange activities with rich themes for teachers and students, create a more intense international atmosphere on campus, and promote cultural exchange and mutual learning between China and foreign countries.
