Representatives from the Aberystwyth University visit City University of Wuhan
On the morning of October 26, 2024, Harriet Howse, Director of International Admissions and Development at the University of Alberta, Nigel Copner, Dean of the School of Business, Bernard Paul Tiddman, Professor of Computer Science, and Jennifer ZHAI, China Manager, visited City University of Wuhan. Principal Chen Jianxun and the delegation had cordial and friendly talks on deepening the understanding between the two schools, launching joint training programs for their advantageous majors, and conducting comprehensive exchanges and cooperation. The chairman of the labor union (in charge of international exchange school leaders) Wu Cuihong, the director of the Department of Economics and Management Zeng Fanhua, the director of the Department of Information Engineering Fu Haidong, the director of the Foreign Affairs Office Liu Yulan, and the director of Wuhan Union New Era Education Industry Co., Ltd. Yang Yanling attended the meeting.
Chen Jianxun welcomed Harriet Howse and her delegation. He provided a detailed introduction to the development history, educational characteristics, and achievements in international exchanges of our university, and expressed his expectations for cooperation with the University of Alberta in the UK. Harriet Howse expresses sincere gratitude for the warm reception at City University of Wuhan. She introduced the latest situation of Abel University and its international cooperation in recent years, and expressed a strong desire for the two universities to carry out exchanges and cooperation.
At the meeting, both parties had in-depth exchanges and discussions on various topics, including the 3+1 model of joint training programs (including dual undergraduate programs, undergraduate to graduate programs, and undergraduate to master's programs), Sino foreign cooperative education, student summer camps and exchange programs, teacher visits, and doctoral programs, and reached preliminary agreements. Both sides expressed their intention to fully utilize their respective advantageous disciplinary resources and jointly promote cooperation between the two universities in education, scientific research, and talent cultivation.
After the meeting, representatives from both schools exchanged gifts and took a group photo to express good wishes for future cooperation. The delegation from the University of Alberta in the UK, accompanied by our staff, visited the campus to further understand the school's educational environment and facilities.
